My four-year-old is way past toddler age but still begs to be carried, and this carrier actually holds him comfortably at his 42 pounds. The harness straps distribute the weight so well that I can make it through a full farmer’s market without needing to put him down.
My back was done with lugging my 35-pound three-year-old around, but this carrier makes it feel almost effortless. The 25-65 lbs range is spot on, and it's been a lifesaver for quick trips where the stroller is just extra baggage.
After a mile my 30-pound toddler rides comfortably with the padded shoulder straps doing most of the work. The hip belt takes some fiddling to get right, but once it's set the weight sits nicely off my back.
