The newborn insert keeps my three-week-old snug against my chest without any head slumping, which was my biggest worry. I've worn it for two hours straight and barely noticed the weight.
The padded waistband saved my back during those first weeks when I was carrying my newborn constantly. It hugs him snug against my chest, and I can actually get things done around the house while he naps.
The padded waistband saved my back during those endless contact naps, and the cross-back straps are easy to tighten one-handed. My three-week-old settles in it within minutes, which is honestly the most I could ask for.
